Double Blown Falacy
As long as glass has been used as a smoking device, there has been a story about "Double Blown Glass". This is a made up term to describe thick glass. The idea is that somehow two layers of glass are adhered to make it thicker. There are techniques that use this as a method to create different effects but not thicker pipes. The way that is achieved is by starting with a thicker tubing, or a larger diameter.
